Adopt a American Pit Bull Terrier

Hi there I'm Kenai. I'm named after a city in Alaska, maybe you can take me there someday. I've been told I'm a pretty cool dog and I'm pretty darn smart. I know what my kennel is and I go in there to sleep during the day and at night. I'd rather sleep in the  bed with the humans, but I'll go in and quiet down at night and be super excited to see you in the morning.

I'm pretty good at letting you know if something is amiss outside, and given I'm so alert, I might do best in a house, because if I was in an apartment I might let you know too often that your neighbors are being noisy.

I have to be honest, I like other dogs but I seem to get really excited and over stimulated when first meeting them.  I will need slow introductions to other animals, but once I relax and slow down a bit, I can get along with other animal siblings just fine.  Some of my favorite things to do are sleeping on the dog couch with my foster sister, eating next to her, and sharing licks of peanut butter on a spoon.  I also think I'm going to go to a class to do some more work on my "issue."

I know where to go potty, and if you forget I'll let you know when I need to go out.


If you are into exercise, I would love to go for runs with you.

I play fetch like a champ and if you have a fenced in yard I would love to chase my huge ball around the yard - I can exercise myself.

I've spent some time with little humans and I just kind of ignore them, but I'm kind of a block head and could knock them over so I should probably hang out with older kids.

I don't mind baths.

Did I also mention I love to go for rides? I love to look out the window for awhile but then I go to sleep if we are going for a long ride.

And man do I know how to cuddle...
